Morning Preparations with a Baby Lamb and Two Dogs
The day began with a delightful surprise – a playful baby lamb jumping around on the lawn beside Padraig’s family home. Capturing candid moments, I photographed Padraig and his groomsmen as they prepared for the day, sharing a sneaky shot of whiskey to steady any nerves. Meanwhile, at Fionnuala’s house, a relaxed atmosphere prevailed. Her beloved dog joined in the fun, playfully jumping in the back garden and even participating in the ‘Cham – Champ ‘ photos with the bridesmaids.
Ceremony at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar
The couple exchanged vows at the Church of the Holy Rosary in Castlebar, a stunning church renowned for its remarkable architecture and vibrant stained glass windows. The ceremony was filled with emotion, enhanced by the exceptional musical talents of Brenda Grealis, whose performances added a heartfelt touch to the proceedings.
Photoshoot at Bertra Beach
Post-ceremony, Fionnuala and Padraig returned home briefly to include their two cherished dogs in some photographs. The couple then journeyed to Bertra Beach, near Westport in County Mayo, in a vintage open-roof maroon Citroën 2CV6 Charleston. The picturesque setting of sand dunes, ocean vistas, and distant mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop for their photoshoot.
Grand Arrival at Knockranny House Hotel
Making a memorable entrance, the couple arrived at Knockranny House Hotel standing in their vintage car, greeted enthusiastically by their bridal party assembled on the hotel’s steps. Situated on the outskirts of Westport, the hotel offers luxurious accommodations with panoramic views of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick. We captured a few quick shots of the newlyweds on the hotel grounds, with the majestic Croagh Patrick as a backdrop, before proceeding to the dinner reception.
Emotional Speeches and Lively Dance Floor
The evening was marked by heartfelt speeches, laughter, and a palpable sense of joy among family and friends. The dance floor buzzed with energy, as guests donned glow sticks and glasses, dancing on chairs to the vibrant tunes of the Bumblebee Honey Band.
Fionnuala and Padraig’s wedding was a harmonious blend of heartfelt moments, personal touches, and spirited celebration.
