A Halloween Wedding in Galway

Carmel and James celebrated their special day with a Halloween-themed wedding in the heart of Galway, at the stunning G Hotel. Known for its luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere, the five-star hotel was the perfect setting for their unique celebration.

The G Hotel – A Dream Venue

The G Hotel offered magnificent backdrops for the occasion. The Grand Salon, with its glittering crystal bauble installation and panoramic windows, hosted a stylish drinks reception. Guests enjoyed passed canapés, champagne, and live music from the grand piano, creating a magical atmosphere. The ballroom, with views over Lough Atalia, set the stage for the main event. Carmel and James loved working with the hotel’s wedding coordinator, who brought great energy and enthusiasm to the planning process.

A Unique and Personal Touch

Carmel and James wanted a wedding that reflected their personalities—cool, unique, and less traditional. Most of the decorations were DIY, including hand-carved pumpkins and flowers sourced from Shein and Artificial Flowers shops. Carmel designed much of her own stunning wedding outfit, with accessories sourced from around the world, including pieces by Marchesa Notte and Ottavio Nuccio.

A Civil Ceremony with Personal Details

The couple exchanged vows in an intimate civil ceremony at the hotel, adding personal touches throughout the day to make it their own.

Photoshoot Around Galway

The weather was perfect for an autumn day—warm and calm. Carmel and James were driven to Galway city centre in the hotel’s luxury electric BMW. They strolled through Shop Street, towards the Spanish Arch, and ended their photoshoot at the iconic Claddagh. The backdrop of two Galway Hooker boats with red and black sails racing on the full tide added a dramatic flair to their photos.

A Fun-Filled Reception

The reception was full of excitement and laughter. Guests were entertained by magician Jamie Skelton, and after a group photo from the balcony, everyone moved into the dining room, which was beautifully decorated in a Halloween theme.
