A Romantic Autumn Wedding with a Halloween Twist
Jennifer and Cormac’s wedding at Cabra Castle was nothing short of magical. Set against the backdrop of autumn leaves and a Halloween-inspired theme, their big day was a perfect blend of romance, mystery, and fun. The couple chose this venue not only for its breathtaking beauty but also for its legendary “haunted” history—making it the perfect choice for a Halloween wedding!
The Venue: Cabra Castle
Located in County Cavan, just 1 hour 20 minutes from Dublin, Cabra Castle is a 4-star luxury hotel and part of the Romantic Castles of Ireland Collection, which includes Markree Castle, Bellingham Castle, and Ballyseede Castle. With its stunning architecture, grand interiors, and historic charm, it provides a fairytale setting for weddings. I’ve had the privilege of capturing beautiful moments at all these incredible venues.
Halloween-Themed Wedding Decor
The couple fully embraced the Halloween spirit with seasonal decorations throughout the castle. Their wedding color palette featured deep purple, black, and dark red, creating an elegant yet moody atmosphere. The bridal party looked stunning in black velvet dresses, adding to the gothic-chic aesthetic.
A Humanist Ceremony in The Granary
Jennifer and Cormac exchanged vows in The Granary, a bright and inviting space within the castle. The ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations that followed.
Fireworks & First Dance Fun
One of the highlights of the night was the handheld fireworks fountain sticks, which created a breathtaking effect with colorful sparks and smoke—perfect for dramatic and unforgettable wedding photos! The night ended on a high note with an energetic dance floor, with music by The Blue Romantics keeping guests entertained.
